When you subscribe to or read the newsletter, Beehiiv processes your email address and engagement data under its own privacy policy (beehiiv.com/privacy). You can subscribe on this Website or through a Beehiiv-hosted page; activity on a Beehiiv-hosted page is governed by Beehiiv’s privacy policy.

8. Downloadable Resources

We offer downloadable educational materials such as the Student Field Guide, Parent’s Guide, Classroom Companion, book introduction, and resource packs. These materials may require an email signup for access. We use signup information to deliver the requested materials and related educational content, and you may unsubscribe at any time.

9. Surveys and Assessments

We offer an online AI Readiness Assessment (the “Assessment”), which is hosted on a third-party platform, ScoreApp. When you take the Assessment, you may provide your name, email address, year in school, and your responses to the questions.

This information is processed by the platform under its own privacy policy (scoreapp.com/privacy-policy) and is used to generate your results, send you your score and related resources, and improve the Assessment. The Assessment may be completed by minors who are 13 or older; we apply the data-minimization and minor-protection practices described in Section 16.

10. Affiliate and Retailer Links

This Website includes links and buttons to external book retailers, which may include Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, Apple Books, Audible, and Damn Gravity Media.

Some of these are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Purchases you make through any external retailer are governed by that retailer’s own privacy policy and terms. We do not receive or process your payment information, and we are not responsible for third-party retail practices.

  • Advertising and pixel data: retained by the advertising platform under its own policy; on our side, we do not keep pixel-collected data longer than 24 months

When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion at any time using the contact details below.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including secure hosting, access controls, password-protected administrative tools, encrypted connections, and limited access to sensitive information.

16. Children’s Privacy

This Website and its resources are intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. Indispensable is written for high school and college students, and our materials are designed for readers entering 9th grade and above.

Children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not direct this Website to children under 13, and we ask that anyone under 13 not submit personal information (such as a name or email address) through our forms, newsletter signups, downloads, or the Assessment. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to interact with the Website on your behalf. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@scottkosch.com and we will remove it. This is consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Teen users (ages 13–17). Many of our readers are teenagers. For users who are minors under 18, we limit the personal information we collect to what is needed to deliver the resource or communication requested (such as an email address for a newsletter or a downloadable guide). We do not sell minors’ personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
